Pixel Networks Limited (“Pixel”), the Hong Kong-based IoT network and solution provider, has been granted the first Wireless Internet of Things (“WIoT”) licence “No. 001” On December 7th, 2017. This new licence is issued by Hong Kong Communications Authority (“OFCA”) and it is aimed to regulate “the provision of Wireless Internet of Things (WIoT) platforms and services using the shared frequency band of 920 - 925 MHz”. According to OFCA’s press release the move is part of the region’s effort to embrace the new and disruptive technologies offered by the IoT services for smart city applications in the future.
